Iberia By Night

Coterie 2

Year of our Lord 1212,

Gerald quietly approached the gate of Lisbon. He dismounted his horse and greeted the guards at the gate. He noticed that the guards seemed to have wooden tipped spears near their positions. It seemed odd. He asked for leave to enter the city, but was told to return in the day. Determined to enter he informed them of his “Templar” status and that his mission involved great importance. Reluctantly they let him pass.

Most of the night had passed which left Gerald with precious little time to find a haven. He headed toward the docks, knowing that their rooms would be cheap. After performing a ritual to protect himself from the harmful rays of the sun he collapsed on the floor.

The next night he felt a summons toward the north of the City, perhaps even outside the city. Upon arriving he found Brother Thomas with a short and stout man. He did not seem to be dead, but rather in the midst of a ritual with Brother Thomas. Upon the Alter within the barn there was that same bottle that glowed red and was magically altered. Then in less than a blink of an eye Brother Thomas had drawn the new man’s sword and impaled him. The ritual was completed with the feeding of the blood from the chalice.

Gerald entered and greet his sudo sire. He learned that the name of his newest companion and “brother” was Sedocious. He was a known warrior from Byzantine that was called, “the Greek”. Brother Thomas encouraged them to enter the city. He went to the well, painted ash colored dust over each eye in the shape of an ‘x’ and fell into the water. Disappearing once again from their lives.

They tried to enter the farm house that was near by to gain information but some force kept them from entering. After talking enough with the farmers, they merited an invitation to enter. Upon this invitation they could indeed bypass the force the previously seem stronger than steel.

They road back on Gerald’s horse to the western gate of Lisbon.

After declaring themselves again as Templar they entered into the city. While walking down the road toward the docks district a wall of shadow appeared ahead of them. In a matter of seconds they were fully encircled and at a lose of what to do, so they prepared themselves for battle. Gerald who encountered this twice before was more angry and hoping that the cainite he is seeking is the one present. At that point over the wall they hear a young girls voice call to them and their business. She wanted to know why the tall one had been in town for a day and still had yet to present himself before the prince.

Gerald turned on the charm hoping to calm the situation, but the girl obviously had the advantage. She insisted that they throw down their arms and be escorted to the court immediately. Both being new cainites and and unsure of their abilities threw down their weapons. Instantly the shadow dissipated, and before them stood a moorish girl of maybe 15. She quickly inquired of their clan and reason for being in the kingdom. The heroes thought about telling a lie, but quickly mentioned they were of clan Assamite. She introduced herself to them as Zarah bint Albed. Gerald quickly mentioned that they traveled with a Moor named Albed. Her eyes narrowed at this news and asked where he could be found. They told her that he was traveling by wagon and should be arriving in the next week or two.

She took them up the hill to the castle that loomed above the city on the hill. The guards at the castle gates opened the gates without even acknowledging her. Deep within the dungeons of the castle sat a large warrior in legion armor. At his side was a silver handled hilt that was ribbed above and below the handle.

Gerald being wise to the ways of a noble court introduced himself and his companion. In turn the Prince introduced his court. To his right was a monk adviser in a brown robes named Balesquida who seemed to be staring intently, almost through the heroes. On his left was a skinny man with a half mask covering an obvious burn. His title was Liaison to the Reconquesta, and his name was Vicente de Cardona. He was displaying the most wealth of the court. After him The sheriff was introduced as Flavia, childe of Marcio. She too was dressed in legion armor, though she favored a more modern sword. To her right was a man sweet smelling man with craftsman’s hands, named Luis De Mason. It was stated that he was working to restore the Cathedral in the center of town. Lastly the girl who brought them was introduced as Zarah Bint Albed, she was the scourge of the kingdom.

The prince inquired into their activities, and they quite honestly professed they were working for a man named Brother Thomas, searching for various items on his behalf. The prince gave them leave to operate in the city and advised them that all hunting activities are to be kept to the Jewish district on the western part of the city. He gave them leave of his personal ghoul to guide them on their first night.

After the meeting the heroes were lead out by Zarah who asked after her brothers last known location, so she could send aid to him. The heroes then went and gathered their items from the inn near the docks district, and headed toward the Templar strong hold. Passing by the Roman ruins below the castle, the headed east and north. The could see the Templar Banner flying from the Fortress as they approached. Around this time Gerald felt the tingles start at the base of his neck warning of immediate danger. He dove to the left off his horse toward a parked cart near an abandoned inn. At the same moment an arrow struck the Greek in the chest dropping more from surprise than hurt. He pulled the arrow and also go behind the cart as Gerald ran toward the front the building. He burst through the door, and raced up the stairs. The Greek began the task of distracting the archer. Gerald ran into the room and pushed the archer out of the window with his sorcery. The second man attacked him from the shadows. Sedocius fell upon the paralyzed man before him to gain strength for the fight. Gerald quickly dispatched the other, while the Greek ran to help his friend. These foes were human, not even ghouls. They had no tunic, yet their training claimed them as men at arms at best or Yeoman as worst. The Templar compound sent a squad of soldiers over to investigate the disturbance near their walls. When the heroes returned to the injured man outside they found the prince’s ghoul had finished the dying man.

Gerald gave his patience of nobility to the Templar order and they were granted sanctuary and told to report to the officer in charge in the morning. They found a good sanctuary in the basement of the chapel with shelves for the dead and two stone sarcophagi with christian knights chiseled into the stone. The heroes found the sun had finally caught them and the Greek feel to the ground exhausted. Gerald found that the two torch holders made clicking sounds when moved. He moved tried three combinations before managing to open a secret opening below the northern sarcophagus. He managed to push the Greek in before falling into blackness himself.

The next morning Gerald awoke first and found more stone shelves imbedded in the walls with two actual stone coffins with large treasure chests before each one. He lighted a torch and began to pick the lock of one of the chests. After opening the first check he stepped back from the danger that rolled off the chest. The chilling force of Faith held him at bay till he could close the lid. He checked the other chest but was met with the same resistance. His greedy self got the better of him and used his sword to move aside the cloth covering the items below. It appeared that jugs filled with Holy water and many leather bags were in the chest. Confidant that he could come back later and claim this treasure he waited for the Greek to wake.

Almost on Cue the Greek awoke. They found that a ladder had been broken near where they fell last night. The used the lever to unlock the door above and used Gerald’s sorcery to levitate up. After reaching the courtyard to the Templar compound a sergeant approached the heroes and inquired why they had not met with the officer in charge. They replied that they will have to meet him tomorrow.

After gathering their horses they headed down to the docks district to gather Gerald’s belongings from the inn. Not having presented their request to enter Combra they returned again to the three towered castle above the city to inquire about gaining access to the library.

They were met again by Zarah who told them that she could help the heroes curry favor with the Prince if they were to help her capture or kill Lobo Blanco. He has been harassing pilgrims on the road north for sometime, but has evaded her ability to capture him and bring him to the Prince’s justice. The Heroes said they would be welling to help but they would need supplies, both mundane and magical. She directed them to a known mage in the merchant district who dealt in magical items.

Having visited the mage and also acquiring Armor that was made for a prince for the Greek as he was small in stature. Gerald who is now called Sir Stefano de Lisbon found a the best armor he had ever laid eyes on. He inquired about the price, but the smith told him it was already bought and paid for by Count Philip. Gerald who did not like the rudeness of the ghoul decided to persuade the smith to part with the armor by bribing him.

Stefano and the Greek headed back to the Castle to meet with Zarah. She told them that she would wanted to wait till her Brother was here. She insisted that she needed to talk with him about a person called Achmed. She offered to have the horses returned to the Templar compound and show them an alternate way to their haven should they wish to travel by stealth. The heroes agreed.

She took them into the bowels of the castle. to a large stone door that was at least 15 fee tall and 4 feet thick. She was only a little taller than the Greek and they both moved forward to help her move the door, but she waved them off. To their great astonishment she opened the door with ease and let them down into the sewers. After leading them for a long time in a single direction downhill they came to a junction that offered a left and right passage. She took the, left which let them back up the hill. They came at last to a smaller side passage off the main one that had a small cross scratched into the wall. She pushed open the stone door next to the opening from from which the keeps privy must exit. The room was a small storage room right next the basement entrance to their haven. She departed and they climbed down for the night.

After the sun had gone down the Greek who woke very early decided to investigate the two stone sarcophagi that they slept next too. He discovered they each had a large chest that was locked at the based of the sarcophagus. Inside were the remains of the two previous Masters who oversaw the order here. He could tell by the style that they had not been there more than 5 years. Most likely around when the city was taken. Stefano awoke and was more interested in the chests. He used his skills and dexterity to open each of the chests. Within they found the top layer was white cloth. The faith aura that came from each was enough that they both were cautious removing it with their swords. Below they found several sealed bottles each with a single cross painted on it. Below seemed to be a few small leather bags. Stefano moved the bag a little and it jingled. He tried to removed the bag but it would not move. The Greek implored him to leave it be as it could be the treasury of the order and that would be stealing. Seeing no other option while being observed he helped placed everything back.

After ascending once again from the crypt they decided they needed to be bathed to rid themselves of the scent of shit. They found a squire who told them in the merchant quarter there near the ruins there was a Roman Bath that was still being operated. He also let them know that the Master requires their presence in the morning.

They headed out and found the bath fairly quickly. A large brute of a man was standing guard while a smaller man was directing traffic and taking coin. After the smaller man sized up each of them he offered to them the private bath for 10 coins each. He said that it comes with refreshment and launder of their clothes. The agreed.. After an about 10 minutes of soaking they heard foot steps approaching. A woman of beauty with long black hair let two servants with two bowls of red liquid. She introduced herself as Zelda the Madam of this bath. She told them that they offer many services for their kind should they wish to indulge. She also let them know that their clothing would be ready in an hour or so. With nothing left to do, and very thirsty from not having and blood the last couple of nights they partook. It was mortal blood that tasted slightly of the poppy.

Near the end of the hour a voice called out to them, which caused them both to jump quickly out of the water. There stood Flavia the Sheriff. She told them that she had been sent by her sire. He has heard that they wish to enter Combra where currently only his Brujah companions and fellow Promethean dwell. She said that her sister had gone missing along with the previous king. Because this happened long before they had arrvied the prince can trust that they were not involved. She scowled at them during this entire conversation. She indicated that they could also investigate people missing in the Jewish quarter as a starting place. She then left.

After they had dressed a servant arrived with a letter written in Latin offering to host them for the evening at the Private estate in noble row. On the way to the estate Stefano began to be come annoyed at the Greeks constant badgering to teach him English. To teach him a lesson he began to teach him incorrectly. So that if he ever spoke with someone in that tongue he would be embarrassed at best and dead at worst.

When they arrived they were brought in to dining room. The whole house was filled with wealth finery. The servant in a very monotone voice told them that their host Vicente de Cardona would be arriving soon. He left through a very dark doorway. Upon closer inspection it looked like there was a wall of darkness. Vicente came through the doorway that was filled with darkness and greeted his guests. He questioned them about their commitment to the Reconquesta and to Christianity in general. He stated that though he supports his prince he wonders such a neutral stance against the Moors was wise. He suggested that perhaps a new leader, a christian leader was needed to insure the safety of the city. The blood to which they were drinking was not normal. It tasted like the blood of a person who had drunkhimself to death. The Greek did not seem to notice and had many helpings. Stefano stopped after his first. The Greek being a Christian, but not a catholic confirmed his faith, but was unsure of these politics. Sir Stefano did not comment one way or the other. As he was getting ready to escort them out. He took the Greek by the shoulders and asked if he could speak with him privately. Without giving anyone a chance to speak he took him through the shadow filled door. Stefano not trusting the Lasombra who are known to have powers over the mind dashed into the doorway after them. It took a few moments to right himself as he entered the other room. The Greek was standing rather still as Vicente had just finished his sentence. Stefano politely told Vicente they would consider his words, but must be going.

After exiting they found themselves once again in need of slumber and headed back to the Templar compound with much to think about.

During the day Stefano was awakened by the haven door opening and a few heavily armored mend descending into the crypt. They had long spears. Stefano tried to wake the Greek, but got no response. He fought them off long enough to fly out of the entrance where several archers waited and shot him into Torpor. Both he and the Greek were loaded up and shipped away for almost two weeks.

When the arrows/stake was removed they found themselves in a large chapel. A man introduced himself as Pater De Leon and told them he was the master of Templar order in the Kingdom of Portugal. He stated he was also an emissary of the Cardinal Moncada. He let them know that should they desire to continue to use the Templar Havens that they would need to swear an oath and join the reconquesta. If they like the Prince in Lisbon wish to remain neutral then they must vacate the haven and no longer use the Templar identification papers. He let them know they are in Tomar the Templar capital of the kingdom and that Lisbon is south West should they wish to return.

Exiting the fort above the town they decided to look for some sustenance. The Greek was quickly able to locate some livestock and took his fill. Gerald had an issue where his prey escaped. He caused the prey to fly high into the air while screaming about witchcraft. Frustrated her met up with the Greek heading south. Towards the edge of town. There they meet Zarah who tells them its time to pay their dues in helping her kill the Gangrel. She states that Just west of here past the hills region is a haunted forest to which the Gangrel might be living.

She said that her servants have sent word that her brother. should be on his way as back up for them should they need it. After several hours of riding they came over the last hill and could see a large forest ahead with a mountain range behind. They could see that even though it was out of season they area has had fresh snow. Howls erupted nearby and once again Stefano was aware of the danger. A pack of wolves attacked them while the area with Zarah went completely black as night. They were able to kill the wolves but found that Zarah had almost been ripped in half. Steam began to rise from the dead wolves as the snow began to fall around them. The Heroes decided to head back to town with Zarah.

They had hid in a barn, and only by the ritual of Stefano were they untouched by the sun. They talked about what they should due, and fed some blood to Zarah. She healed very slowly. Stefano noticed a person’s eyes watching them and turn and run after he had been seen. Stefano was unable to make a sight connection as the boy turned corners too fast. The greek was able to help Heard the boy back toward the barn and caught him with a serpent stare. He brought him back to Zarah who changed his memory. The Heroes also asked if they could check the Greek for anything wrong as he had that encounter with Vicente. She was able to undo the Dominate as she was a lower generation than Vicente.

She told them to go on ahead and scout the area while she would wait for her brother and follow.

Year of our Lord 1162

Sir Barnabas has continued on his quest to master the blade of legend that is the bane of vampires and were-creatures alike. Germain’s fear of death left no option but to return and join Brother Thomas in London shortly the latest incident.

It was great timing as the others had been crushed by the explosion and needed to be dug out quickly if they were to survive at all. His strength gained by being a ghoul helped rescue Albed and Gerald. There was not enough of Travis left to save him from his fate. After being dug out of their graves and transported to the Templar grounds outside of the city, Brother Thomas worked quickly to revive his followers to their previous states. He then preformed a ritual using a glowing clear flask of blood to embrace both of them. This is was done outside of the protection of the Prince of London, so to avoid the ire of the methuselah he placed them in a trance like state using more thaumaturgy. There they resided for almost 50 years till their bodies and treasures were transported to a ship headed for Iberia.

Year of our Lord 1212

After a few years of helping Brother Thomas doing occult research Germain was joined by a distant cousin from the east. They both being members of a sect within in the Rom that hunted supernatural creatures found they could not oppose the reasoning of Brother Thomas, nor deny that he has called them to a high purpose. Over those 50 years of preparation, they gathered occult scrolls and tomes. Brother Thomas was researching ancient cainite tools lost throughout the ages. The succeeding rebellion against King Henry had finally reached the capital. On the night before the siege was to begin Brother Thomas had Germain and his cousin help load Albed and Gerald aboard the ship.

During the week it took to come to the small Harbor just north of Lisbon, allowed Brother Thomas to use his ritual once again to embrace Germain and his cousin. Then after instructing them with their task he woke up both Gerald and Albed.

Both Gerald and Albed awoke from their years of dreaming within the land of the fae to which they have imparted part of the souls. Albed visited and rejoiced in his time with the Summer Lady and her court, while Gerald gave into his hate and sold himself fully for the vengeance against the murderer who killed his parents, while residing within the winter court of the Sihde.

Brother Thomas gathered the new cainites around him and told them a little of their destiny. God has a plan to use them as tools to thwart the enemy from the vile changes being brought upon mankind. With aged eyes he told them of his prophecies that he has followed for ages. He then told them that he has little time left. Soon the sleep of Torpor would claim him for a time. He lead them in the holy sacrament, and taught them of the vaulderie so they could bind themselves to each other and no other. He also taught them that they belonged to Clan Assamite. For Gerald and Albed it seemed strange as they had heard that those of that clan turned darker with age, while they in fact had become paler and almost glowed a little in the candle light.

After it was done, he informed the group that they are to be searching for ancient items of power. Gerald Longstrider has actually seen one of these items during the night his parents were murdered. It was a silver Mirror with ribed parts both above and below the handle. There are many of these items to be found through out Iberia, but there are no descriptions of these items that he and his ghouls could uncover. He was able to find references that the items were transported to the area under the Romans in order to protect them. This rumor was not confirmed though.

They departed that very night in long boats toward a cove with a small village North of Lisbon. They were given Patences of nobility for both the Christian Kingdoms and the Al-Aldonas. Upon landing with their many riches that survived England they sought out sanctuary in the decrepit Templar fort. Albed with his inherited site from his Mortal days quickly identified an ugly vampire that was watching them from the town.

The heroes having learned a healthy respect for the nosferatu asked for leave to stay a time in the village till the could build a wagon to haul all their things. They learned that they resided within the kingdom of Portugal which belonged to Marcio the Brujah. The prince has restricted access to the norther city of Coimbra which is rumored to have a great library and university. Thinking that the region must have a scourge they planned to set out to Lisbon and present themselves before the prince and his court in hopes of currying favor and gaining access to Coimbra.

Albed had finished his Wagon within the week and they borrowed a family of the village to help them continue to travel during the day. Halfway to Lisbon, the wagon was attacked by Saracen raiders. They surrounded the wagon and planned to take the Nobles hostage. While conversing with the leader fire erupted and chaos ensued. Men flew up in the air and then fell to their deaths. Unfortunately the wagon had caught fire and the Vizer “cousin” of Germain was trapped within. Germain’s beast drove him down the road while the wagon on fire followed after. This left Gerald and Albed to deal with the remaining Moors. Gerald used his new found Thaumatergy, while Albed used stealth.

After the dust cleared, Albed and Gerald burned the bodies, and sought their companions. The loan survivor of the raid recorded his findings and returned south to report his findings to his Sultan.

It was planned that Albed would work to fix the wagon while Gerald headed south to scout and seek help from the city.

RECAP from The Dark Ages I

The Year of our Lord is 1150 AD London. After being saved from a sea of darkness and suffocation, the heroes were inducted into a sub sect within the London Templers led by a monk known as Brother Thomas. Brother Thomas instructed his children in the “blessings of God” that he has given unto them. They have received strength, durability, and as long as they take of the sacrament given by the Holy Brother eternal life.

During the next few years as they learned about their new life they partook of a series of trials to help them better understand their ghouled nature. They also became aware that vampires truly did exist among them, and that like men they could be good or evil. And like men, they also had rulers and hierarchy.

Shortly after their introduction into Kindred society they were dispatched on a daylight raid to investigate a fire of a manor in which a Cainite lord had resided. They were able to find that the servants had turned on their master. After giving chase, the Heroes were able to track down the ghouls of the missing lord and dispatch them. This gave great praise to their leader Brother Thomas. That Victory was the last piece that Brother needed to install himself as the new sheriff in the Court of Avalon.

The Heroes were taken back to a tower that appeared to be broken and abandoned, only to find that some illusion holds the reality that the tower is fortified and whole. Brother Thomas sought to teach the weaknesses of the Cainites unto them. Brother Thomas had taken mortal who were condemned men and embraced them so that the Heroes could learn the proper techniques to subdue and dispatch cainites. This truly tested their humanity as they were forced to kill each of those men.

By this time all of the Heroes have become thralls of Brother Thomas bound by the blood that flows from his veins. They seek to do his bidding by this bond, and are held to Brother Thomas’s desires. Knowing that these events tested the metal of his servents and that they could survive properly, he then instructs them in the Lore of the Cainites, the Werewolves, and the Fae. Each of them learns quickly that the world they were living in was merely a pale shadow world to the realm of darkness in which they truly resided.

After a few years of serving in the City of London, two of the heroes disappeared leaving only Gerald to contend with the desires of Brother Thomas. Fortunately through foresight Brother Thomas was able to bring two new members to complete the trinity of ghouls who serve him. One was a Moor from Iberia who went by the name Albed. The other was thief, Ludwig who hailed from a germanic city beyond the kingdom of France.

As the months turned to years, Brother Thomas trained the heroes and taught them the history of the cainites. His instruction included (with permission from Mithras the Prince) the embracing of three condemned men for the purpose of learning Cainite weaknesses.

Brother Thomas personally took some time to train Albed, and while he did the others were joined from a seasoned crusader recently returned from the Kingdom of Jerusalem. This Crusader’s name was Sir Barnabus as he was knighted for defending the Christians in the stead of the King of England. The three Gerald, Ludwig and Barnabus were called to protect the realm in the absence of Thomas and Albed.

Their first quest let them to the cave of an ancient Gangrel far to the north of London. They destroyed the Giant elder ghoul bear and gathered 4 canopic jars from the self above the sarcophagus. Only with sheer luck were the heroes able to find on the first try the heart within. Sir Barnabus staked it before they became food for the recently awakened Methuselah. The riches, jewels and the remaining jars where transported back to London for Safe Keeping.

A rival of Brother Thomas had an orphanage raided and those within killed while the heroes were away. Upon their return Brother Thomas performed a miracle. Through some mystical means he was able to revive the children and heal them without the use of Vitae. It was then they realized that Brother Thomas may have used this power on them after the battles they lost, few as they were. Their Master forbid them of speaking of these miracles and told them he could no longer use these “gifts” from God as it was drawing too much attention to himself and his kind.

Again there seemed to be a hidden hand that seemed to cause trouble in the Baronies of Avalon. The Scourge of London an Elder by the name of Angus has also disappeared. Brother Thomas has taken on his peer’s duties to prevent a rival from gaining power; however Mithras was insistent that the matter not go unresolved. Thomas once again entrusted an important task to the Heroes of uncovering the truth and returning Angus if they could.

The Heroes used what little contacts they had to learn of possible rumors and mean to locate the Gangrel. There was a tale that he traveled west into Wales to deal with the Lupines there. They also learned that his childe Alice was often seen on the northern plains just outside the Moor gate. There was also talk of a mystic man who belonged to the Order of Hermes that resided within the city proper of London. Sir Barnabus was sent east to gather information on this and other dark tails of that region. This left Albed, Gerald and Ludwig to seek out Alice and the wizard Simon Magus.

Since they often stayed in the Templar Compound (as Brother Thomas portrayed himself a Templar priest) they figured dealing with the Wizard might be the best course of action as he was supposed to be closer. While Albed saw to the provisions should they need to leave in haste, Gerald and Ludwig went in search of Simon Magus. They followed the clues they were given and sure enough found themselves not three streets away from St. Paul’s cathedral. They could hear sounds of a blacksmith pounding metal from the forge next to the shop. Quickly examining their surroundings they noticed that people seemed to avoid this street, almost as though it did not exist in their minds.

It was around this time that Albed joined them and bravely they knocked upon the wizard’s door. After a few moments he arrived, a large man heavily sweating and smelling of smoke. He bid them enter and told them quickly that stealing from his shop can have some nasty consequences. Whiles Albed talked with the wizard out the missing Angus, the other began to peruse the shop, aching to spend their money. The shop was filled with the most finely crafted weapons and armor they had ever seen. One sword burned with a halo of Faith that even frightened the small beast within their bellies. Ludwig had recently taken up religion under thinking that this must be the key to Brother Thomas’s power. He eyed holy water for sale, blessed by the Pope himself. Thinking the Wizard occupied, he stole a vial to show the blasphemy that this wizard was, and to have proof to accuse him. Albed and the wizard came to an arrangement of 2500 pennies and 2 boons in trade for his casting a spell to locate Angus. Simon warned them that the spell would not located him directly as their powers were sometimes thwarted by the blood of Cain.

The First boon was to recover some elderwood that had been stolen from outside his shop near the door to the forge. And so the Heroes left to find this missing wood. Upon exiting of the shop however Ludwig burst out in red boils that turned his normally attractive face into a leper’s worst nightmare. Ludwig quickly covered himself to hide his affliction. It turned out that their questioning had brought three villains dressed as grey monks against them. The Heroes being warriors with a lethal accuracy were able to dispatch them with little issue. It was Albed that noticed their skin upon death began to darken in complexion and become the deep color of blood. Having only a moment’s notice they turned to flee this abnormality. Ludwig unfortunately caught the worst of the explosion and nearly died on the spot. Gerald was only minorly hurt while Albed was able to jump to safety. It took them till night to ask for Brother Thomas’s help with the weak condition of Ludwig. Brother Thomas then gave them each a wineskin with his vitae and left the city in pursuit of his duties.

The Heroes were able to follow the Wagon tracks to the Moor gate and inquired with the guard about the wagon and the wood. The night watch was able to give them a description of some charcoal makers he knew about 10 miles to the north. Since Alice was on the way, they sought her out. She told them that as far as she new (a couple weeks old information) that he was heading to Stocks field far to the north near the Border with the Scots. In light of the many months it would travel to the north, the heroes decided to keep on the wizard’s quest.

After searching most of the day they were able to locate the farm with the missing wood. However they also came across more monks in grey robes that also when slain would explode. These monks however seemed to do more destruction than when first encountered.

Upon returning with the wood, Simon Magus told them of his second boon. Of late he has been burdened by his order to deal with a rival by the name of Tiberius in Worcestershire. He has been rumored to be raising corpses using magic most foul. As of late these dead were found unanimated along the roadside, leaving the locals to wonder at how they came to be there.

The Heroes headed west and saved Barnabus from a tower of a Tzimice. Albed attracted the attention of a Toreador with his extra delicious blood. Meanwhile Gerald and Barnabus were sent east to London with a report for Brother Thomas. Albed escaped along with Ludwig and faced the horrors on the road to the Necromancer Tiberius. They were able to stop the Necromancer by using a powerful faith weapon to disrupt Tiberius from swallowing the souls to become a god. The cost was high. Over half of the population of the castle and the life of Ludwig himself. Albed searched for two days under the rubble of the two towers that had been destroyed and recovered the corpse of Ludwig. Brother Thomas was barely able to bring Ludwig back from the dead, and once again the heroes found themselves returning to London.

It was going to take a while after they got back for Simon Magus to cast the ritual to find Angus. Albed having been not only knighted but now elevated to Earl of Worcestershire stayed behind. This allowed the Heroes to go looking after the cause of Vikings that were ravaging the coast. Once again the heroes were able to find clues that led them to believe that the people missing from the villages were not dead, but rather being held captive as slaves.

While Barnabus and Gerald investigated a ship, Ludwig was questioning after the captain in a secret pirate bar. After being denied access to the ship, Barnabus followed by Gerald leap aboard using their supernatural strength. The sailors in the sails and ropes all produced bows and showered arrows upon them. Barnabus deciding to even the odds jumped into the hold and broke through the wood beginning the process of sinking the ship. Gerald was not as fortunate as he could barely crawl to safety till he could drink his wineskin.

As one might imagine the battle was fairly loud and the Captain of this ship quickly headed toward the docks. Ludwig tried to follow but was killed while facing two of the captain’s elite men. Barnabus was able to save the slaves aboard and gather the charts before the boat sank completely into the harbor. The captain watched in horror and anger as he saw this. Gerald and Barnabus and their servant gained another companion who was completely loyal to Albed’s Brother(Achmed) He was a mercenary named Travis who stood far above most men. Often he was mistaken as a giant among those who did not know him.

They using the charts, were able to locate a hidden cove to deal not only with the pirate/slavers but also deal with whatever supernatural power was leading them. Halfway through the voyage however it was found that Achmed had captured an ugly Nosfearatu and was beginning to use him as blood experiment. With only 1 day left before arriving at the cove, was disrupted by an accident involving the destruction of the Nosfearatu. This also leads to the Murder of their crew save for Achmed (who hid) and themselves. They were forced to parley with an Elder Nosfearatu for their lives. Achmed however refused and gained the full enmity of that clan for all that had happened.

They entered the cave, and found that all within had been torn apart. The heroes were able to bypass the traps quietly and scare off a black shadowed wolf man while gaining a very important artifact. This very artifact became the quest of a lifetime for Barnabus and him alone. Brother Thomas made that clear to the others, as they had still not located Angus.

The ritual was finally completed by Simon Magus. Travis, Gerald and Earl Albed witnessed a vision: A church being serviced by Brown robed monks; a Great Circle of Mushrooms; A sky angled vision looking down on a small village near an ancient wall; Lastly their vision became black as night with the sounds of animals growling joined by a chorus of more as each second went on, till at last a bright flash of blood.

After talking about options the party decided that Stocksfield north of Yorkshire was their next destination. Albed having accumulated much wealth and cunning was able to trade with Simon Magus for a ritual scroll that would allow Brother Thomas to Split his vitae more abundantly within mead. Spending a week in preparation Brother Thomas was able to provide three times their normal allotment of vitae using this ritual.

Alice was determined to travel with the Heroes in search of her sire, and so they began the long trek north.

Not three nights into their journey, they were attacked by mean in Brown robes that blew up almost instantly upon death. Alice not being forewarned was knocked into torpor. The others were able to hobble into town after a few days. And once again they were attacked by Brown robed devils. They did manage to knock one out before he died, however what they did not know was that the already mauled monk had drunk of poison. While they dealt with the public now very curious to the explosions, the unconcious and now dead monk exploded and destroyed the inn. Albed not taking any chances hid Alice in the ground so that she would not be degraded into a blood bag, which he feared the others were plotting. At this point the party left the road to traverse the dangers of Sherwood Forest.

It is important to note two things. The first was that after leaving the road, they were no longer hounded by Brown Robed Monks. The second was they encountered Robin Leland and his band of merry men. The Heroes were escorted into camp and asked what business led them north. After admitting their quest, they sought help from Robin and the Cappadocian Monk Friar Tuck. The only thing they had of worth to them was the ritual that Albed had traded for. Friar Tuck studied this ritual for many days till he was able to perfect it. Now Robin armed with the ability to keep his army ghouled at a much easier cost began his campaign south to make sure that Young King Henry was crowned and fortified against his brothers Richard and John. Richard seeking battle took upon himself the crusade to reclaim the holy land and Jerusalem. He has since had total success in reclaiming the Kingdom of Jerusalem and had been made king.

The Heroes oblivious to their altering of history continued onward. The found themselves in the small village with a guide to the cave that Angus is known to travel to often. Within the Cave the fought an abomination (of cainite and werewolf) and drove it back into the darkness. They also found a clue that lead them back to an abbey in London. The guides became werewolves and helped them travel through the umbra back to their goal as quickly as possible.

The end of this long road finally in sight, they used stealth into the compound (filled with brown robed monks), found a secret way in through the newly constructed sewer that fed into the river. After avoiding many traps, they confronted the Master Tremere and his appetence as they completed a ritual turning Angus into a gargoyle (the first). With much skill and luck they took down the master. The apprentice however had released the experimented on Gangrel that were being controlled. The Abomination came in through the umbra into the Cistern room to cut them off. Hopelessly out numbered, the Heroes fled toward the stairs. Gerald tried in vain to open the stone lid at the top of the stairs only to fall victim to a ward. Albed protected the flank while Travis was able to push on up through the stone into the side chapel. The chapel was filled with 15 Armed Monks who instantly exploded. The force of the explosion collapsed the stone roof and crushed Gerald and Albed. Nothing remained of Travis.

Many Years later Gerald and Albed awoke a ship amidst a dark sea…
